Schubert Theatre Arts Repertory (STAR) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit community theatre organization committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website [starmainstage.com] (the “Site”), sign up for our interest list, register for events/classes/auditions, make donations, or otherwise interact with us. By using the Site or providing us with personal information, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

We may collect the following types of information: Personal Information you voluntarily provide: Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, age/date of birth (especially for youth programs or interest list sign-ups), payment details (for donations or fees), and any other details submitted via forms, emails, or communications.

Automatically Collected Information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time/date of access, and referral sources (via cookies or similar technologies).

Donation and Payment Information: Processed securely through third-party providers (e.g., PayPal, Stripe); we do not store full credit card details.


Special Note for Children Under 13: Our programs and interest list may appeal to families and youth. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If a child under 13 attempts to sign up for our interest list or provide information (e.g., name, email, or age), we require parental involvement as described below. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper parental consent, we will delete it promptly.


2. Special Provisions for Children Under 13

To protect the privacy of children under 13:We will not collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 without first obtaining verifiable parental consent.

Verifiable parental consent may be obtained through reasonable methods such as: email-plus confirmation (parent provides consent via email and we follow up with a secondary step), signed consent forms (via mail/fax/scan), credit card verification, video/phone call confirmation, or other FTC-approved mechanisms reasonably designed to ensure the consenting person is the parent/guardian.

Parents will receive a direct notice (via email or other provided contact) explaining: what information we collect from the child, how we use and disclose it, and options for consenting to collection/use without third-party disclosure (unless necessary for the service).

Parents may review, correct, or delete their child's information, revoke consent, or request no further collection by contacting us (see Contact Us below). We will respond promptly and delete data upon request (subject to legal exceptions).

We encourage parents to supervise their child's online activities and contact us if they have concerns.


3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:Operate and improve the Site and programs (e.g., process interest list sign-ups, auditions, classes, donations).

Communicate updates (e.g., audition news, events, newsletters).

Process donations and issue tax receipts.

Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

For children under 13, use is limited to the consented purposes.
